Current Challenges of NAWOU: - Classifying strategic concerns of women of Uganda that are not covered by other actors.
- Commitment and ownership of members to the organization.
- Strengthening district networks and empowering district executive members with the knowledge and the skills to effectively reach the grassroots community based organizations.
- Strengthening communication and information flow within and between district networks.
- The funding of NAWOU's operational costs.
- Insufficient funding of core activities.
- Improving communication, documentation of activities and concerns of women at grassroots, national, regional and international levels.
- Proper monitoring mechanisms for a growing NAWOU, in order to keep focused and sustained.

- Capacity building of NAWOU secretariat, the National Executive Committee, of National and grassroots members through their district networks and NGOs.

Specific Goals: - Organizational Development - NAWOU will improve on her organizational structures at all levels for efficient service delivery for all her members.
- Needs of CBOs - Addressing both strategic and practical needs of CBOs.
- Influence and Advocacy - Building strong relationship with NAWOU partners in development both at district, national, regional and international levels.
- Evaluation - Putting in place an effective analysis of programs, documentation, communication, monitoring, and evaluation system.
- Capacity building - Building capacity of secretariat, NEC, NGOs and CBOs to improve the status of members.
